Back to the (home)front

An overnight redeye flight carried me home day before yesterday morning, back to Chicago after an amazing 6 days in Brazil. Huge thanks to a bunch of awesome people I met along the way: Eduardo Taú (for everything, including being the guy to make this all happen and putting me up for the week – and for somehow tracking down a CD copy of my old hardcore band In Reach's album), Eduardo Coes (for everything, including co-arranging the fest I played and setting up my paperwork to make sure I could get into the country – and for reminding me of Dennis Quaid), Osmar Camelo (for taking a load of videos/pictures throughout the trip – and for teaching me about the different types of Samba), Fernando Aleixo (for nearly killing me with laughter, teaching me the power of emoticon hearts and for being willing to demonstrate his breakdance moves), Fernanda Peghim (for being the only person who complimented my mostly awful attempts to pronounce Portuguese words – thanks for that), Isabele and Gabriella (for being a couple of seriously dedicated photographers), all the guys in all the awesome bands I got to play with (Running Like Lions, Rawfire, Dinamite Club, Velo Caos, and Bufalo), Hangar 110 and Casa Amarela for hosting the shows, and so many other people that made the trip amazing.

It was all a blast. Here's hoping I get to see you all again soon. Thanks for everything.

And now, back to The Static Age's new record (and preparing for The Static Age's upcoming show in Chicago on May 29th! Details TBA over at thestaticage.com and facebook.com/thestaticage.band) and a few other recording projects before I head to Europe in June.
