My two and a half weeks of playing shows with Bob Nanna (and Lauren LoPiccolo) in Germany and Italy has come to a close. It was a blast. You can see a slew of snapshots now over on Instagram, but there's more coming (thanks to our tour manager/documentarian, Eva Bo) – I'll post a followup on that soon.
In the meantime, other exciting news: I stitched together a cover of Elliott Smith's "Waltz #2" (taking liberties, but perhaps not as many as Kate Bush took with "Rocket Man") for Funk Turry Funk's upcoming "A Brief Smile" Tribute Compilation (out everywhere May 19th). I'll be appearing alongside a host of awesome bands (including The Smoking Popes, Last Days of April, Goldenboy, Adam Rubenstein, Franz Nicolay, and many others), all doing covers of Elliott Smith songs. Here's the tracklist:
1. Andrew Paley – Waltz #2
2. Goldenboy – No Name #1
3. Last Days of April – Ballad Of Big Nothing
4. Smoking Popes – Let's Get Lost
5. Sundressed – 2.45 AM
6. Secret Space – A Fond Farewell
7. Elder Brother – Twilight
8. Rob Moir feat. Abigail Lapell – Bled White
9. Carter Hulsey – No Name #3
10. Daria – Waltz #1
11. Dan Webb And The Spiders – Whatever (Folksong in C)
12. Jo Bergeron – Going Nowhere
13. SEA + AIR – Everything Means Nothing To Me
14. Stocksmile – Biggest Lie
15. Adam Rubenstein – Mama Wouldn't Be Proud
16. Chris T-T – Cupid's Trick
17. Ducking Punches – Needle In The Hay
18. Ghost Of A Chance – Angeles
19. John Allen – Between The Bars
20. Franz Nicolay – Everything Reminds Me Of Her
All proceeds of the compilation go to the Elliott Smith Memorial Fund.
